This short sci-fi thriller is the next project from Oakland futurist, filmmaker + visual artist Celia C. Peters.
The film features top-tier Bay Area talent,both in front of and behind the camera.
The OBJECT PERMANENCE First Look will screen in a showcase on September 12, 2026 at
San Francisco International Airport, in conjunction with SFO Museum's Women of Afrofuturism exhibit.
LOGLINE:
When an interstellar object reaches Earth, scientist Drexxceya and her best friend Echo both finally get what they’ve been wanting . . just not at all how they expected.

WHY IT WILL SUCCEED
This film is for the huge audience of sci-fi fans who are hungry for elevated sci-fi stories led by diverse characters who reflect the world we live in. The film's First Look will premiere at San Francisco International Airport in September 2026, followed by a screening at Museum of the African Diaspora's NEXUS in October 2026. After that, festivals here we come. We'll also be developing a longer format version of this story.
